Course Objectives

This Permit to Work course is designed to provide you with an appreciation and understanding of the key elements of the permit to work system and how to put this into practice in the workplace. Upon completion, delegates will be equipped with the knowledge to effectively implement safe work practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Workshop Content

At the end of the course, delegates will have covered the following:

• Be aware of the legislation applicable to risk assessments and how they affect workplace safety.
• Understand the 5 steps of risk assessment and how they integrate with the permit to work process.
• Define the terms hazard and risk, and learn how to effectively identify them in the workplace.
• Identify people at risk and how to implement protective measures.
• Understand and use the hierarchy of control to mitigate risks.
• Understand the interaction of the permit to work system to support safe practices in various work environments.
• Gain an understanding of the key components of the permit to work system, and how to adapt it to your company's safety protocols.

This course can incorporate the client’s existing permit to work system and is supported with a practical safety assessment to ensure comprehensive learning. On completion of the course, delegates will receive a Certificate of Attendance to demonstrate their understanding and commitment to workplace safety.
